What is Skypomp
SKYPOMP is a small, artist-run gallery based in Pittsburgh, with collaborations and exhibitions reaching nationally. We practice the art of exhibition, platforming emerging artists and their work.
Our name draws from the ancient Greek archetype, the Psychopomp: a guide of souls. We think of ourselves similarly — ferrying artists, their craft, and vision toward new audiences and exhibition.
What we do spans curatorial work, archiving and supporting artists' practices, and producing published materials including books and magazines. We call this interdisciplinary collaboration.
Our nucleus is Pittsburgh, PA, with a near-term exhibition schedule in San Francisco alongside a consistent schedule at our Project House. We're a small outfit, but we work hard.
